Hiraiso-kan is a lodging facility located right by the coast.

The Japanese restaurant inside the inn is open to the public, making it a casual spot where you can enjoy a Japanese menu featuring local seafood.

It’s a convenient spot for both tourists and locals who want to savor authentic seafood in the Hiraiso area.

Hiraiso Kan Japanese Restaurant Menu

平磯館メニュー

This time, I ordered:

・Luxury Rice Bowl
・Marinated Tuna Rice Bowl
・Fried Oysters
・Fried Salmon

It was a combination that let us enjoy both seafood and fried dishes.

The "Luxury Bowl," packed with seafood

平磯館贅沢丼

The Luxury Rice Bowl is a seafood rice bowl topped with tuna, salmon, whitefish, whitebait, raw octopus, and more.

It comes topped with a whole raw octopus, looks great, and makes you feel like you’re eating right by the sea.

There’s a generous amount of sashimi compared to the rice, so the sashimi really stands out right down to the last bite.

It comes with miso soup, a small side dish, and pickles, making it a very satisfying option for a tourist lunch.

Richly Flavored "Marinated Sashimi Bowl"

漬けチラシ丼

The marinated tuna bowl features a generous portion of marinated tuna, centered around cubes of tuna coated in sauce.

The sesame and soy sauce flavors come through nicely, making it hearty yet not overly heavy.

It seemed like a good option even for those who say, “I like sashimi, but a bowl full of it is a bit heavy.”

This dish also comes with miso soup, a small side dish, and pickles.

Freshly Fried Oysters and Salmon

平磯館フライ

The fried oysters and salmon, which I ordered à la carte, had a light, crispy coating.

The fried oysters are incredibly juicy inside and packed with the rich flavor of the sea.

The fried salmon is plump and retains the natural sweetness of the fish.

It pairs well with tartar sauce, and the fact that there are menu options suitable even for those who aren’t fond of seafood provides a sense of reassurance for a restaurant in a tourist area.

Hiraiso You can also enjoy the famous "Anglerfish Hotpot" by reservation

平磯館あんこう鍋

Hiraiso At the Japanese restaurant in the building, “Anglerfish Hotpot” is available in addition to the regular menu.

According to the in-house menu:

・Anglerfish Hotpot (3,500 yen per person)
・Anglerfish Hotpot Set Meal (includes sashimi, 4,300 yen)

Both require reservations made at least two days in advance.

(*Prices and terms are subject to change, so we recommend checking the official website or the restaurant directly before visiting.)

When it comes to winter Hiraiso, Anglerfish Hotpot is the one to try.

If you’re visiting as a tourist, making a reservation in advance will allow you to fully enjoy a meal unique to the area.

Hiraiso Kan Japanese Restaurant is:

・Focuses on seafood dishes, making it ideal for tourists

In short, it left a strong impression as a very convenient dining spot for tourists.

I highly recommend it as a lunch spot when touring the Hiraiso fishing port, Hiraiso coast, or the Hitachinaka Seaside Railway line.
